Spotlight Teachers of the Week

Reading

Meet our Spotlight Teachers of the Week:

Mrs. Sunderland, Mrs. Griffith and Mrs. Ochoa

Mrs. Sunderland

Greetings! My name is Judy A Sunderland I am a Leveled Literacy Interventionist for grades Kinder -2nd. As an Interventionist I help students become grade level proficient in reading. It has been my joy plus my responsibility to help students discover the joy of reading. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, my Boston Terrier, and traveling. I am glad to be part of the Wilson Elementary team and it means so much to know that they (colleagues) and you (parents) have faith in me and my abilities.

Mrs. Griffith

My name is Leslie Griffith and I am the Leveled Literacy Interventionist for grades 3-5 at Wilson. I earned my M.Ed. in Elementary Education as well as my undergrad in Interdisciplinary Studies at UTPA (now UTRGV). I have spent my entire 22-year career as an educator at McAllen ISD. Currently, as the LLI Interventionist I am able to share my passion for literacy and support students and teachers alike.

Mrs. Ochoa

My name is Elvia Ochoa and I am a Dyslexia teacher. I have 3 grandsons; Adrian Daniel who is 20 years old, Jeremy  Daniel who is 6 years and Isaiah Michael who is 3 years old. My grandkids are my life. I am a proud Grandma.
