The McAllen Independent School District announces the sponsorship of the Texas Department of Agriculture Food & Nutrition Program Summer Meals. The Summer Food & Nutrition Program provides free nutritious meals at participating feeding sites to children 18 years of age and under.

Mrs. Kristi Lea Rogers
 
Mrs. Rogers is a 3rd grade GT/ESL teacher at Woodrow Wilson Elementary.
 
This is her 6th year as a teacher and 14th year working for McAllen ISD. 
 
Last year (2016-2017)  Mrs. Rogers was a State finalist for the HEB Excellence in Education and was chosen as a "Rising Star" - one of the top 5 teachers in the State of Texas.
 
In 2012-2013 Mrs. Rogers won the title Texas Alternative Certification Association State Intern Teacher of the Year.

Also in 2012-2013 Mrs. Rogers was voted as McAllen ISD's Technology Teacher of the Year
 
She is married (29 years) to her high school sweetheart Steven Rogers (yes...Captain America) and they are the proud parents of two daughters Avery, an amazing musician and university graduate who is currently spreading her talent all over Austin, and Kacie, a 6th grader here in Mcallen ISD,  
 
Mrs. Rogers has an Associate's Degree in Art and Applied Science-Psychology (A.A.S), a Bachelor's Degree in Art and Applied Science (B.A.A.S.), and a Master's Degree In Educational Technology Leadership (M.Ed.).
 
She is currently certified to teach Early Childhood through 6th grade with an English as a Second Language endorsement as well as Gifted and Talented State certification. 
 
Mrs. Rogers believes it is important to stay healthy and to make sure to move around and she enjoys roller skating for exercise, you never know when you may see her skate on by!.
